FPL 20:21 | Team for GW38: Finishing the season with a bang?

GW37 was an absolute disaster, everything that could go wrong went wrong last GW and I ended up with a GW rank of 70 lakh, my worst ever this season, and my OR fell from 3.6 lacs to 4.6 lacs.

I had transferred in Joelinton and captained him as a super differential and all he did was get 1 point (2 as a captain). Also transferred in Greenwood, and although he came close to scoring he only got 2 points. On the other hand, Iheanacho and Sigurdsson, who I transferred out of my team, got 6 points each – a 13 point swing (including the -4). On top of that my bench score 22 points – Bamford and Rudiger getting 12 and 9 points respectively. I cam tantalizingly close to getting Rudiger’s points, only for Holgate to come in for Everton in 90th minute to deny my team of that. Well differentials are high risk, high reward and going into the final GW of the season I won’t change much in my approach. I don’t have anything to defend, so even if I lose rank further, it won’t hurt me, so will keep attacking with few differentials.

My picks for GW38

Nicolas Pépé – Arsenal seem to have finally hit some form with 4 wins on the bounce. They have an outside chance of qualifying for Europa League and they will give it there all, I suppose. Nicolas Pépé seems to have hit some form with 3 goals in last 2 starts, surely Arteta starts him again and he could bang a couple.

Kelechi Iheanacho – Leicester might try and go for a BIG win against Spurs in order to have a better chance of qualifying for CL, and who better to place your bets on than the man in form Kelechi. He is rested as well after only coming on for last 30 minutes against Chelsea, I have a feeling he could get a goal or too. Last time I said

Michail Antonio – West Ham are up against a leaky Southampton side and with Europa league qualification in sight, Antonio will be the main man for West Ham (specially with Lingard looking leggy over last couple of gameweeks). Saïd Benrahma could also be a good differential pick!

Mohamed Salah – Mo Salah blanked last week even when Liverpool managed to score 3 goals, which is a rare sight, but I still feel with Harry Kane in a shout to usurp him from pole position for Golden Boot and Liverpool needing a win to ensure CL qualification, Mo will be in the thick of things.

Harry Kane – Last match ever for Spurs ? Maybe. Chance to win the golden boot ? Definitely. Although Harry is not looking the sharpest off late, he is always involved in goals and would want to end the season on a high and grab that Golden Boot once again.

Ferran Torres – Torres looks sharp and comfortable in the role upfront. He is in form and will be hoping to make most of the chance he gets before CL final to impress Pep. Everton look solid defensively but this is City we are talking about, they would want to take some momentum in the CL final. If he starts, he might get substituted for Aguero late on though.

My transfers for GW38

OUT –> Bruno + Mahrez + Adams

IN –> Pepe + Torres + Antonio

Captain – Nicolas Pépé

Best of luck everyone for last GW of FPL 20-21!
