Well in time before the GW23 deadline, came in the announcement of Double Game Weeks in GW24 and 25. While rumours of Everton vs Man City being rescheduled in GW24 were hot, Burnley vs Fulham in GW24 and Leeds vs Southhampton in GW25 came in as a surprise.

Thankfully I have an extra free transfer for GW 23, so all in all 3 free transfer prior to GW24 deadline. Obviously these are not the only double game week that one needs to plan for, with FA Cup 5th round games prior to GW24 deadline, we could have a decent idea of potential doubles in GW26, which could influence the transfer decision heading into GW24 and GW25.

As I head into GW23, I did a bit of work to prepare a plan for navigating GW24 – 26 and going in with maximum points earning potential. Here is my current team and how their fixtures look:

The colour coding is a simple RAG analysis basis my limited understanding and how I view the fixtures for the respective players. Currently I have 4 DGWers for GW24 and 1 for GW25. With GW26 expected to be the biggest double gameweek I am hoping to use my bench boost chip in DGW26. Given this it might be worthwhile to Wildcard in GW25, preparing a decent team for DGW25 and DGW26. That means with the 3 free transfer I have before GW24, I can focus fully of DGW24 to get in 3 players with double games.

Tentative Plan to navigate DGWers 24 – 26

GW24 : Use 3 free transfers ( 1/2 in GW23 and remaining in GW24) to have 7 DGWers

GW25 : Use wildcard, DGW 25 – 3/4 DGWers

GW26 : -4 / -8 to get 15 DGWers and use Bench Boost

Transfer plan for GW23

Robertson and Konsa are first names on my list to be transferred out. Their fixtures are not great and the form has been really bad. There is obviously in off chance that Robertson will hit form soon given his pedigree but I am willing to take a chance.

I am targeting a Burnley defender given their double gameweek in 24 and a decent fixture against Brighton this GW. Ben Mee is a really interesting option and can come in as Konsa replacement or I can go for Tarkowski by transferring out Robertson.

I am going for the simpler move by transferring out Konsa and getting in Mee.

Captaincy Pick

This week captaincy is a difficult decision, but if Spurs had been in any decent form, Son would have been a clear choice for captaincy this week and with Kane potentially back, it makes Son even more attractive captaincy choice.

Antonio, like last week, is a greta captaincy choice this week as well against Fulham who have the third worst XGA since the turn of this year, but they are not conceding as many as they should, hence second thoughts on Antonio.

Bamford and Fernandes are great captaincy picks as well, however both Crystal Palace and Everton have shored up defensively over last few weeks, hence I am not going with them this GW.
